This past weekend I put several things on Craigslist to get some more traction with our plan. Yesterday I sold a mountain bike for $20, a lawnmower for $65, and today I just finished a deal to sell our two carseats and bases for $60. We are planning a garage sale in a couple of weeks and I figured these items would do great on Craigslist. I still have a bistro table and chairs as well as a ladder shelf for sale......if you are interested.
Selling items that you don't need is a nice way to get some traction if you plan to pay off your debt.
My wife and I got off to a tough start in life when we had a baby early. We didn't have a "real" wedding and consequently have had to buy a lot of wedding stuff like dishes, silverware, appliances, towels, etc. over the years. Now that things have calmed down, we are still struggling to pull ourselves out of early debt. We both have good jobs but still have way too many bills. Our kids are a little older so most of our disposable income goes to sports, school, clothes, etc. This makes it hard to climb out of our hole. We will keep trying and one day overcome our debt anchor.
ReplyDeleteI have hope. I know that one day we will get in the black. I have great family and friends to support us. I love hearing about tricks and tips. Any new ideas will be greatly welcomed.
